Time

Tell the world not to be so ugly,
transform itself on a dime and a nickel,
get lucky, maybe, and it’ll spin
off its axis, spill into the sun,
pillage its roots to burn at temperatures so hot
they’ll make you melt
liquid gold to soot,
ashes, a phoenix’s glorious rebirth
into time’s combustion engine:
Everything is reborn.

is great but it is all superseded by the simple truth of the opening line, 'tell hte world to not be so ugly' This is a poem that cries out for exposure, for submission. It's wonderful...

Wow! Thank you. This was written while waiting for my co-worker one day. The first line just popped into my head and the rest flowed out of that. I went with it even though it didn't seem to make much sense as I wrote it. It was fun. :-)
