Time

Tell the world not to be so ugly,
transform itself on a dime and a nickel,
get lucky, maybe, and it’ll spin
off its axis, spill into the sun,
pillage its roots to burn at temperatures so hot
they’ll make you melt
liquid gold to soot,
ashes, a phoenix’s glorious rebirth
into time’s combustion engine:
Everything is reborn.

Ah, wow, that is really fantastic! I don't even know where to start -- the whole thing is amazing. I really like "spill into the sun" and "into time's combustion engine", you're really painting a picture here, and it's exquisite, I mean that. Also! That pic up top is not hard on the eyes either.

Thanks! I wrote that poem while waiting for a teacher friend of mine. It was a spur of the moment writing, which has been edited a bit, but not too much. I had so much fun creating that picture on photobucket. Hard to think of it as art, but it is fun. :)
