Dear Fellow Yuletide Writer,

I’m Calacious on A03. Thank you for sharing your gift of words with me. I am super excited to read what you write.

I am open to treats.

First, I do have some triggers that need to be avoided so that I can truly enjoy what you write.

DNW:

  • Prison (even mentioned; avoid canonical prison mentions as well)

  • Gender-bending

  • Excessive torture or angst

  • Pining

  • Hurt without comfort

  • Sex (mentioned is okay, but I do not read sex scenes)

  • Descriptions of bathing someone or washing their hair

  • Robots that are like humans

  • Main character (nominated characters) death, unless they enter another realm and have a happy ending there

  • Unhappy endings

  • Excessive worldbuilding that focuses heavily on the description of elements in the room or what characters are wearing, etc. (I do not need to know the color of the drapes and how they match the character’s eye color, but the fact that the wallpaper is peeling (as long as it is relevant and important to the story, like in “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Perkins Stetson) it’s okay)

Second, these are things that I typically love in a story.

General Likes:

  • Mpreg

  • De-age (but not where the person retains adult memories)

  • Found family

  • Domestic fluff

  • AU (except high school and space)

  • Soulmates (except the one where people don’t see colors until they meet their soulmate)

  • Hurt with tons of comfort

  • Character-driven stories

  • Crossovers

  • Kid!fic

  • M/M slash

  • Vampires

  • Survival

  • Recovery

Third, if you’re anything like me, a prompt helps stir the creative juices (if you don’t need prompts or find them too restrictive, then no worries).
